K Rend Set to Once Again Sponsor the Builders Merchant Awards in 2023

K Rend is delighted to once again sponsor, Health & Safety Initiative of the Year, for the Builders Merchant Awards 2023. We are incredibly proud of our partnerships with our merchant customers and the BMAs is an exciting event for us to support.

The Health & Safety Initiative award will recognise companies who have forged ahead to increase the awareness and prevalence of Health and Safety, including mental health awareness, within their business. At Kilwaughter we are focused on the health, wellbeing and engagement of our employees and this is a core part of our strategy, so this is a category we are delighted to support.

Our 12-month wellbeing programme delivers financial, physical, social, and mental wellbeing support to our employees, supported by a unique online wellbeing portal and has included the delivery of mindfulness workshops, investment in the training of 30 mental health first aiders, the creation of a wildflower garden on-site, and investment in both indoor and outdoor socialization areas.

Within the last year, we have donated almost £200K and supported more than 70 local projects, events, and initiatives. These provide an opportunity for staff to engage with others in the organisation, give back to the community, partake in worthy causes and embody K Rend’s CSR values. These initiatives helped us to win the ‘Safer Through Improvements in Health and Wellbeing’ award at the 2023 Mineral Products Association awards in January, as well as retaining our Great Place to Work certification for another year.

K Rend has been trading exclusively with builders merchants for more than 30 years and we are excited to celebrate the excellence within the merchant sector with our customers in November and particularly look forward to recognising those merchants who are dedicated to health, safety and wellbeing.
