As part of Winter Working we want to make sure you know who to contact if you need any support throughout the Winter Working months. Check out what our specialists here at K Rend have to say:

Gerry McErlean | Applications Specialist

What is the toughest part of Winter Working?

Enough planning to have your products ready but making sure they are stored in dry conditions, off the ground until you are ready to use them.

What is your top tip for Winter Working?

Preplanning as explained in my Winter Working document, together with keeping the substrates reasonably dry. This helps avoid variations in colour and scrape when using scraped texture products.

How can you help?

We have a range of technical documents and specifications which cover Winter Working conditions. The team and I are happy to discuss these and provide technical help and support as needed.

Jason Nicholson | Product Manager

What is the toughest part of Winter Working?

The unpredictability of the weather.

What is your top tip for Winter Working?

Plan ahead and consider an accelerator. It’s a great way to speed things up without compromising quality.

How can you help?

We can advise on best product, application, temperatures, weather conditions, accelerators and what to avoid like high humidity, moisture in the air, freezing overnight, what protection is recommended and the best tools for the perfect finish.

Darren Alexander | Specialist Division Manager

What is the toughest part of Winter Working?

The UK & Ireland Winter weather conditions make it very difficult to ensure protection from rain and frost, it is important that protection is provided for the first 48hrs after application.

What is your top tip for Winter Working?

Adhere to our application considerations and be wary that most of our render products have a working temperature range of between 5°C – 35 °C.

How can you help?

Our application instructions clearly outline how best to apply our products for maximum performance, and in what drying conditions work best. We can recommend which Winter Working products are best to use to enhance our standard K Rend product range so they are optimised for the Winter months.

Steven Logan | Merchant Division Manager

What is the toughest part of Winter Working?

Planning your project can be difficult due to the fluctuation in temperatures and understanding how products perform in adverse conditions.

What is your top tip for Winter Working?

Making sure to choose the correct products that will allow you to complete your project efficiently as possible without any issues due to weather conditions.

How can you help?

The best and most important advice I can give is to engage with our sales and technical team who are always on hand to advise on specifications, give technical advice, and to educate on what Winter products will best suit their project.
